Hi, my name is Nikos Sourmelakis and i am a visual & interaction designer and user experience expert. I am Greek , and I studied computer graphics and 3D animation in Athens, Greece, graduating in June 1997. In January 2006 I received my MSc in Human-Computer Interaction from Middlesex University of London and I am a certified usability analyst (HFI) and project manager (Prince2). I am a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP), the Usability Professionals Association (UPA) and the Interaction Design Association (IxDA).

Background

I have been working in the digital design sector since 1995 as freelancer and employee of different companies. Since then, I have had the privilege to work on many different projects in the fields of multimedia, web design, branding, printing, advertisement, 3D modelling and animation, user interface design, usability, digital art and many more. Since July 2001 I am based in Alicante, Spain.

Present

I am currently working at a European Union's agency (OAMI) as a consultant. I started working at OAMI on July 2001. My work is related with web design, user interface design, usability, multimedia and graphic design. At the same time I am trying to expand my horizons by learning new things, experiment and undertake projects as a freelancer. The last years the projects that i am involved into vary from usability studies and art direction, to web, user interface and packaging design, and goes on to photography!
